Director of Hispanic Engagement

Alfonso Aguilar is one of the top Hispanic leaders in the country. As Director of Hispanic Engagement at American Principles Project (APP), he works to garner increased Hispanic support for policies that protect the family and the fundamental values and institutions on which our nation was founded.

Mr. Aguilar has over 25 years of experience in government and politics. As a conservative activist and advocate, he has been a consistent and influential voice for conservative Hispanics in some of the major policy debates in Washington and has led or been part of numerous campaigns in support of conservative candidates or causes.

Mr. Aguilar was the first Chief of the U.S. Office of Citizenship in the administration of President George W. Bush and served in key high-level government positions in the Bush Administration and the government of Puerto Rico, including Deputy Director of Public Affairs at the U.S. Department of Energy, Executive Director of the Puerto Rico Federal Affairs Administration and Press Secretary to former Governor Pedro Rossello of Puerto Rico.

Mr. Aguilar is also a well-known political analyst, appearing regularly in national mainstream and Spanish language media.
