Amber Smith is a former senior Pentagon official and US Army Kiowa Warrior helicopter pilot-in-command and air mission commander and combat veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan. She is the author of books Danger Close and Unfit to Fight. She flew combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, and later served as Deputy Assistant to the Secretary of Defense.
