Since 2011, Chuck DeVore has been with the Texas Public Policy Foundation, and is its Vice President of National Initiatives. He works on criminal justice reform and frequently writes about the economy and how energy, tax and regulatory policies influence general prosperity.
Chuck worked in the aerospace industry for 13 years as an executive where he analyzed technology and corporate capabilities and worked in business development. At the time of his election to the Assembly in 2004, he was a corporate vice president.
Chuck served as a Reagan White House appointee in the Pentagon from 1986 to 1988. As Special Assistant for Foreign Affairs his duties included working with Congress to advance the President’s foreign and military policy. He later served on staff of a U.S. Congressman. From 1991 to 1996, he served as a City Commissioner for the City of Irvine. Chuck served in the Army National Guard from 1983 to 2007 as an intelligence officer and is a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army (retired) Reserve.
Chuck has been married since 1988 to Diane. They have two daughters.
