Brig. Gen. E. John “Dragon” Teichert is the Assistant Deputy Under Secretary of the Air Force, International Affairs, Department of the Air Force, the Pentagon, Arlington, Virginia. In this position, he provides oversight and guidance for U.S. Air Force and U.S. Space Force international policy and programs supporting national security objectives through a broad security cooperation portfolio.

Brig. Gen. Teichert received his commission through the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps program in 1994 at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Throughout his career, he has held a variety of operational, instructional, test and leadership positions, including command at the squadron, group, and wing levels. Prior to his current position, he served as the Senior Defense Official and Defense Attaché to Iraq.

Brig. Gen. Teichert is a command pilot with more than 2,000 hours in 38 different aircraft types. His combat experience includes operations Northern Watch, Deliberate Forge and Allied Force.
