Former University of Pennsylvania swimmer Paula Scanlan never intended to rock the boat. She attended a prestigious university, competed at the Division 1 level, and landed a job in corporate finance. All that changed when she decided to speak up against biological men in women’s sports. As a sexual assault survivor, Scanlan was not content to allow Lia Thomas, a former D1 men’s swimmer, to invade women’s locker rooms and take women’s trophies. Despite pressure to stay silent, she now uses her platform as an IWF spokeswoman to speak the truth.
